DJI Innovations unexpectedly announced the imminent return of the recently discontinued Phantom 4, but with the letter “Advanced”. The novelty will be offered in two versions “Phantom 4 Advanced” (with standard equipment) and “Phantom 4 Advanced +” (with equipment with a super-bright monitor built into the remote control).
Peculiarities
Unlike its predecessor, the P4 Advanced received:
- Obstacle detection distance up to 30m (was 15m)
- 1″ CMOS 20MP camera sensor
- mechanical shutter
- Shooting in 4K quality at 60fps
- H.264/H.265 video compression formats
- Bitrate up to 100Mbps
- New control hardware with built-in ultra-bright 5.5″ 1080p display (Advanced+)
- Videolink LightBridge HD
- FPV removal distance up to 7km
- Intelligent flight modes including Draw, ActiveTrack, TapFly, Gesture and Tripod
- Flight time up to 30 minutes
The visual positioning system remains the same as on the Phantom 4 and these are the only “eyes” of the drone.
There are no visual differences between the Phantom 4 and Phantom 4 Advanced.

The quadcopter is available for purchase on various Internet trading platforms at the following prices:
- Phantom 4 Advanced (standard control hardware) — $1199
- Phantom 4 Advanced+ (equipment with built-in ultra-bright display) — $1499.
